Grant Community Garden Needs your Help!

Grant garden has been selected by KATU as the site for a public service announcement sponsored by Honda to be filmed June 1st, 2015. With over 600 school gardens in Oregon, this is an honor and tribute to the great work by the Grant students and community.

This is quite an honor, and our community is very proud. We would greatly appreciate if families, friends, and neighbors would join Ms. Brenda, Grant Garden Teacher, for a Garden Work Party on Saturday, May 30th, from 9-noon, to do cleanup tasks that little gardeners can't do.

She really needs the help and appreciates the support of the Grant community to keep our school grounds looking good!

Tasks to be completed:

  1. Build 2 garden boxes to replace rotted ones
  2. Paint all garden boxes
  3. Pressure wash courtyard sidewalks
  4. Spread bark mulch by gym door
  5. Spread bark mulch in courtyard garden
  6. Weeding front of school (groundcover area)
  7. Planting flowers in front of school
  8. Connect water to sink by greenhouse
  9. Mortar together bricks along path in front of school
  10. Remove weeds and leaves along east fence line by dumpsters and playground

To sign up for the Garden Work Party, email, call, or text Ms. Brenda and let her know which task you will help with. Your efforts will be rewarded with a gift from the Grant gardeners!
