Because of a generous gift from local Kiwanians, SKEF is now able to give away free books in local neighborhoods. Keep your eye out for when it will be in a neighborhood near you!

College / Career Readiness

Combining professional staff with trained volunteers, we meet student needs by providing one on one academic support and help establishing their pathway to post graduation success.

Essay Contests

SKEF holds two annual essay contests that promote strong, thoughtful writing, and offer students the chance to win scholarship money and prizes.

iLumiDance & Coding Workshop

A summer workshop for middle schoolers combining the fundamentals of coding with art and dance performance. Space is limited!

Innovation Grants

Through the Awesome 3000, SKEF raises money and distributes grants to classroom teachers to support creative projects and programs that make the difference for the learning style of all students.

Learning Gardens

From 3 school gardens when it began to now 13 gardens, our students help cultivate thousands of pounds of fresh food and learn about healthy lifestyles, nutrition, local specialty crops, and careers in agriculture.

Lemonade Day

This fun, experiential program teaches youth how to start, own, and operate their very own business—a lemonade stand. Help us empower today’s youth to be tomorrow’s entrepreneurs!

Scholarships

SKEF offers five distinct scholarship opportunities to students for music, visual arts, contributions to culture and community, and honoring specific interests or schools.

School Break Lunches

Warm meals and fun activities are provided to students 1-18 years old during school breaks (winter, spring and summer).

School Supply Depot

The School Supply Depot is open for school counselors at Walker Middle School to pick up supplies for students. Schedule an appointment at the depot between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. by calling (503) 364-2933.
